Think Pink It's Friday!

I cannot remember when I first fell in love with the colour pink, but just looking at the colour makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over.

Pink roses with baby's breath (Gypsophelia) remind me of weddings and crystal vases filled with these flowers always look so pretty around the home.

Pink chocolate is scrumptious (when I can find it), to be absolutely truthful, I simply adore any chocolate and it's probably the biggest reason for me being a touch on the "cuddly" side!

Teddy bears make me happy and pink ones especially so, (I made this one and it's now living with a new mummy).

On very rare occasions, I will buy myself a pink outer garment, however, when I shop for lingerie I can't help myself and always end up buying pink . . . any shade of pink will do . . . and it applies to the whole bloomin' lot ~ bras, nickers and nighties! Until recently, I even owned a pink and white polka dot dressing gown!!

Pink sunrises and sunsets remind me how lucky I am to be alive and healthy, strawberry ice-cream tastes deliciously yummy, especially when eating it from a waffle cone and wearing pink shoes is a just a touch of rebellion against age, and is something which takes me back to my adventurous youth.

The depression glass kind of snuck up on me, I think it all started with some pieces my mum passed down and although I have some amber pieces in my collection, I tend to keep a sharp eye out for pink, I particularly like pink vases and small bowls with tiny feet!.

Typing this post got me thinking, so I looked up "pink" and apart from the obvious, these are the results of what I found:

* Purity Integrity Nobility and Kindness
* Buy something pink and find out just how you feel.
* Love; friendship; fluffy; warm; comfy; sensual; feminine; cotton candy; soft; caress; beauty; Breast Cancer.
* Pink is the colour of universal love. Pink is a quiet colour. Lovers of beauty favour pink.

Each Friday this year, I will share something PINK, if you'd like to join me sometime, use the heading Think Pink It's Friday and I will add a link to your website at the bottom of my post.
Big hugs,
X

    1. Hi Barb,
I wanted to do something a little different this year in the hope people would enjoy having a little fun. I'm glad you enjoyed them.

  2. Ah so now I know you love pink. I will note that one down. (I actually still keep a paper address book, I am probably in the minority!) I have to admit, I never used to like pink when I was younger but I actually don't mind it these days, hot pink or pale pink. It's such a nice calming colour I think and goes well with a lot of other colours. And I just noticed noticed your blog background is pink too!

I'll look forward to what other pink things you can introduce me to!

    1. Oh we are so alike Alasse, I keep one too. :) I never was overly fond of it growing up, but as I've grown older I've become quite obsessed with it. I even have pink in my bedroom. LOL!

I just hope I can find enough pink things to keep it going all year.

  3. Pink has always been my favorite color. And I truly mean ALWAYS. Ever since I can remember I've loved pink. I was less picky with it when I was younger but now I find myself gravitating towards certain pink shades more, especially pastel warm shades of pink. Not too keen on the bright fucsia anymore.
I'll think what I come up with for the topic :)
Oh and I love strawberry ice cream but for some reason most popular ice cream brands here stopped selling it years ago, so I always order it when I'm at an ice cream shop where you can find all kinds of flavors.
I need more pink undies hahaha

    1. Yes the warm pinks are really lovely Alejandra, but I like some cooler pinks too, but I do not usually wear really bright in your face pinks, although they look good on others.
Isn't that strange, I would have thought strawberry ice-cream would be around everywhere forever. I also like boysenberry ice-cream. 😛
Ah when you get your new pink undies you can post them! Hahaha!

  4. I'm another one in the "never really liked pink growing up" camp. But since my baby girl was born, suddenly almost everything I've bought is pink. Not just her stuff either. Stuff for the house, stuff for me, all pink now!

  5. Pink is not my favourite colour, I think that would be blues of all shades, with white, but I still do like pink and the colour is one that actually suits my complexion, so as a result I have a few pink clothing items, including a baby pink hoodie, another baby pink one with Mickey Mouse on the front, as well as a pale pink cardigan and teeshirt to match. I love pink candy floss and pink licorice!
I like your pink glass and that teddy bear is gorgeous, and I'm completely with you on the sunrise and sunsets being pink too!
I will try to remember to add something pink each Friday, but you know me.....my head is like a sieve, I hardly remember that it is Friday!!!
    Have a great weekend xxx

    1. Sharon I should have guessed that blue was your favourite colour after your last post with the blue hair. LOL! I also like blue and white, especially for the summer, it seems to suit the season well.

I haven't had candy floss in years but I do love licorice . . . we have Darryl Lea licorice that is soft and sweet, that's really yummy. Not keen on the Dutch type that is hard and a little bitter.

Don't bust your gut, but I hope you do manage to join "Think Pink It's Friday" when you can . . . I know what you mean though, I often forget which day it is these days. :)

  8. What a great idea! I will watch it with pleasure. :)

I hated pink. For a very long time. There was to much of it all around, in bad shades and so on. So I was something like allergic to it.

But now I grew up to it. I started to appreciate it. It's a lovely colour, especially dirty pink or powder one. That two are my favourites. :)

    1. Hi Joanna,
We probably all go through stages with colour, the same as we do with dolls. LOL! Yes, I agree, dusty pink and powder pink are both gorgeous. :)
