Although I've still been working on the Tailor's shop in between all our Christmas preparations, I found myself a little stumped (forgive the pun) when it came to the interior walls of the tree, so I had finally reached a standstill. But as luck would have it, I did, after some searching, find just the right lining, but had to place an order and wait for the parcel to arrive after the holidays.
Not being one to simply sit and wait around twiddling my thumbs, thoughts crept into my head . . . one in particular stuck there. At first it was simply an idea, then I found a picture on the internet suitable for me to put the idea into practise. I downloaded it, cut it into three sections using photo editing and printed it out on A4 paper. Using a glue stick, I mounted each sheet on foam board and made matching paper hinges (using photo editing once again) to put it all together.
Of course a Circus isn't complete without a clown or trapeze artist, so I made new costumes for my PukiFees, Tika (tan) and Rin (white), which also created a gender change. 😏 Though I still need to finish Rin's hat and Tika still has his/her wolf fangs, but they are not really out of place in a Circus are they? After all they used to have bearded ladies and others with human oddities.
Speaking of oddities . . . these body parts arrived yesterday, I intend on painting them and using the tiny mannequin in the Tailor's shop and the larger one in my Fleur and Mason boutique when I finally get round to putting it all together.
Looking at these photos now, I see I probably need new ink for my printer. So what's new about that? I always need something. Well that's about it for today, so once again . . . HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
Happy Christmas!! Have great time during the celebrations :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Chiriann. :)
DeleteThis is a clown I would like to see in the Circus (I'm not a fan of them to be truth) - so sweet!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
I'm pleased Joanna, he is a rather cute little clown even though he doesn't have his hat yet.

Your circus looks really good! The hinges look flawless, I barely noticed them. Your dolls look very cute in those outfits and the fangs don't look bad at all.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely Christmas Eve.
Thank you MC. That's good, I was hoping they wouldn't be too noticable. We had a lovely Christmas, I hope you did too!

She is so cute with the fangs! She suits well at a circus!
ReplyDeleteThat circus background looks great! Look forward to seeing what you come up with next! :)
Great prop, the tiny one, for your Tailor's shop!
Christmas Hugs!
She is playing the part of a circus performer quite well Niina, and I am pleased you like the background. Haven't done much more since I posted . . . too full of food to move! LOL!

Thank you YeYe, the tent was easy to make, so much so I'm thinking about make some different ones in the same vein. Circuses and carnivals are fun places, and they often bring out the child in us, but I find that's a good thing. :)

Oh you are so creative. I love the circus set and the new costumes for your two little ones fit so perfectly with the set. The Mannequins look great. Can't wait to see them in the tailor shop. You have been so productive this year with your dioramas! I've been slacking off to be honest. Maybe in 2020. I have plans for a Garden house set for the 1/6 dolls. Or at least, the comfy interior.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're so kind with your comments Alasse. :) Thank you. Only one mannequin is for the tailor shop, the other will be for the French boutique. Been feeling slack myself lately, and it's quite hot today so I've been feeling sleepy. I do hope you do a garden house set, it sounds like it will be very interesting.
