Rain!

Yes, finally the heavens opened up yesterday and dampened things down in the fire ravaged areas of our continent. Hopefully it's enough to stop new fires forming, but it is a double-edged sword, as there are warnings of lightening strikes and the potential for flash flooding, particularly in the burnt-out areas of NSW and Victoria, which are now vulnerable to landslips and trees coming down.

Australia’s horror bushfire season has so far burnt through more than ten million hectares of land, killed twenty eight people and destroyed thousands of homes nationwide.

However, on a more positive note, this is the first morning in some time, where I've actually been able to breath in air instead of smoke! So it's time to get on with things and bring some form of normality back to my blog. 😊

But first, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated to the Bush Fire Appeal, WWF and WIRES and those who continue to support those in need.

My PukiFees, Macaron and Biscotti, thought today would be a good day for a bike ride.

Hope you are all enjoying a good day. :)

  2. I like how their wigs, dresses and shoes match! I almost wish one had baby pink skin and the other one mint green skin so they would super match! They are extremely cute and I love the bikes.

    1. Thanks Rachael, but that could be pushing the colour coordinating a bit too far. LOL! PukiFees are hard to resist, they are all so cute.

    1. Thank you RM, my garden appreciates it too! These wee ones are so easy to dress and as I have so many, colour coding them all makes it easy for me to remember who is who. :)

  4. Hi Linda! I love my PukiFees, but they are very spoilt, they have so many toys, but I guess that's because I can find things in their size easily. It can be so much harder for my other larger dolls.

Oh yes, there's nothing quite like fresh air, but now they are saying it won't last long . . . I hope they are wrong.
    Big hugs,

  5. Thank goodness for RAIN Sandi!!! I hope that it just brings relief to the country and not lightening and all that brings with it.
Your girls look very cute in their pretty outfits and bicycles, I suspect they feel better about riding now that the air is clearing.
Keep safe and sending big hugs

    1. Oh yes, it's been a lovely day today, sun is shining (we can actually see it today) and blue skies instead of grey smoke, it does wonders for ones spirit. News here has been quite positive today.
Nothing better than some wee PukiFees to add some cheer alround. :)
Thanks for your kind words, big hugs,

    1. Yes Niina, it was wonderful to see (eventhough I normally cannot abide the wet weather). It certainly will help restore the surviving landscape. :)
      Thank you!

  8. I love these photos, they have such a fresh feel to them! I'm glad you are able to breathe better now. That smoke smell is really bad for the lungs. And the rain was appreciated all over Australia I think. Even we got a heavy downpour here which cooled things down for a few hours at least. It's back to stinking hot again though. Hottest summer ever I think!

    1. Thanks Alasse, these wee ones are so easy to photograph, I guess that's another reason I love them. :)
Yes, I noticed you had rain too. The temperature here isn't too bad today, about how I like it, but I feel like I have sleeping sickness, everytime I sit for any length of time, I drift off! Even fell asleep in the middle of writing my latest post. LOL!

    1. I think everyone is hoping that this is the end of it Chiriann, and that those effected can begin to rebuild their homes and their lives . . . far too many people and animals have died this fire season.

Oh those two always look happy. :)
