Possibly Clairvoyant

I haven't had much enthusiasm for taking photos lately, actually I have had very little enthusiasm for anything other than buying dolls, dolls and more dolls. This may change when the darn things finally begin to arrive though . . . I b****y well hope so!

I did try to cheer myself up by revamping my blogs and sorting out which dolls belonged to which blog etc. But that didn't work out so well, I still felt blah.

The other thing that I have had difficulty coming to terms with is finding a decent editing program. I was really happy with the one I was using. Then my computer crashed and I lost it. At first I thought I'd simply purchase the latest update of the same one and all will be well in my world . . . except it no longer had all the things I used and liked about the old one.

So it was back to spending on dolls again and it didn't take long before I found a pretty Prudence to be friends with my Ellowyne and Lizette. She's another purchase from Jeff.

Possibly Clairvoyant was produced by Wilde Imagination in 2015 as a limited edition of 500 which retailed at US$189. She features a Prudence head on an Ellowyne body and has inset brown eyes, rooted chestnut hair with a red streak, articulated elbows, wrists and knees.

She is another MIB as shown here in Jeff's photos (left) and on the right you can see how she is close up . . . her eyes look a deeper brown in Jeff's photo.

Her outfit consists of what you see in the Robert Tonner's Wilde Imagination photos which also show how gorgeous she looks out of her box.

Well I have nothing more to add today and I'm afraid if I stay here chatting I might end up boring you all with my own crappy feelings of frustration which I know many are suffering from right now in Melbourne . . . I'm off to drown myself in a bottle of wine!

  1. Again, I must say thay I love the colour theme of that pretty lady, both her outfit and marvelous hair. Fantastic purchase, I'm sure you will be happy with her! And I REALLY hope that they will start arriving soon, lifting your spirit! Oh yes, I know that all too well - after updates all my beloved programs stop working as they should - those for editing pics, sorting files, my CD library, even music player, which now has a ton of annoying useless feature. It's the same even with games - some are actually running slower after supposed "upgrades".
Hope the wine helped a little! Hugs, hugs!

    1. I love the colours in her dress and hair too Chiriann. I am so anxious to see if she's as lovely IRL, but the wait will be long.
That is so annoying when they do that, I don't know why these IT people cannot leave things well enough alone. My old program was so easy for me to manage, I don't need all these upgrades . . . I like simple!! I haven't upgraded my phone for that reason, I just require a phone not all the apps that come with the new ones, most of the time I leave it in my bag and only use it to text my daughter.
      Big hugs,

  2. Oh, her outfit is gorgeous! It looks like it has gold leaf all over it. I'm glad that you've managed to find so many dolls that you like. I hope they get to you soon and you can share your impressions with us.

For photo editing, I'm currently using Gimp, which is free to use. It's a bit complex at the beggining because it has lots of options and you can't find anything, but it offers more possibilites than the online editor I was using. In the mean time, you can check out BeFunky, which is an online photo editor. It's quite limited, but it does the job when you just want to crop the photo and adjust the contrast.

Hope you'll find some motivation soon. I do understand the lack of motivation and frustration because of lockdown. Crafting has helped me stay in a possitive mood, but to do so I need to be already in a decent head space. Sometimes it's hard to find motivation to do the things that make you happy, and it becomes a vicious cycle.

    Take care.

    1. I agree MC I think I was lucky to find this gal. I still need an Amber to complete the set, but Jeff didn't have her unfortunately otherwise I would have grabbed her too. I'm hoping some turn up this week, but one cannot predict the shipping as parcels are travelling to places you would least expect before they reach Australian shores. :(

I have looked at Gimp and the complexity put me off, but I guess since it's free it's worth giving it a go. I won't bother with BeFunky though as I can crop and adjust contrast with the basic editing that came with my laptop, but I do appreciate your help. :)

Being in the right head space helps a lot and normally I don't have too much of a problem, I'm usually much more positive in my outlook. Lately I feel like I'm on a treadmill and going nowhere fast! But I'll find my mojo again, I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

  3. Coming from someone who hasn't been able to post for months, I totally understand how you feel Xanadu. Prudence will be perfectly at home with Lizette and Ellowyne. Take care!

    1. Thank you PP, I know I'm not alone with these feelings, I think it's having an effect on everyone. It's comforting to know that we are all here for each other though. I hope you feel better soon too.
I'm sure Prudence will fit in nicely with the others.

  4. She's lovely. I love her boots.
I keep swearing I'm not ordering anything else because I'm sick of waiting for packages but I keep doing it, although it's mostly clothes for little girl that I'm buying.

    1. Thank you Rachael. Well I am not buying any clothes, but I have been making plenty. I have actually been sewing by hand quite a bit as I am enjoying it more than using the machine.

Doesn't the waiting drive you insane, everything just sits somewhere in no-man's land for days or it's sent to Japan or somewhere else unknown, instead of coming direct to Oz. GRR! These things are all there to try our patience . . . mine's at it's limit!

Just keep spending if it makes you feel better. I am. :)

    2. And just when you think "Yay! It's in Melbourne! That wasn't so bad!" It doesn't move for a week and a half!
I'm starting to think, the bright side is, I forget what I've ordered, so when it finally arrives, it's like me getting a present from me!

    3. Just keep your fingers crossed that the one in Melbourne doesn't get sent to Brisbane to cleared by customs before it comes back!! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that on my tracking.
Hahaha! I guess that's one way of looking at it . . . Christmas in September. :)

  5. Yes, she's a pretty one alright and the first Tonner I have purchased with boots. Thank you Linda I hope so. I shall see if I can find one, maybe that will do the trick, it would certainly make my life a lot easier. :) I keep hoping and praying, so keep your fingers crossed for me.

  6. I've never been a fan of Prudence's face, but the outfit is charming, especially the purple boots. The black dog is hanging around me, too. Trying to figure out how to chase it away here, hopefully without spending too much money. ;)

    1. I know she's not as popular with collectors Barb, but I really like this one and I want to have all four girls in the series.
Not having the luxury of going to the hairdresser or nail salon, I do the best I can to cheer myself up by buying dolls, and it would probably work if they were arriving in good time. We will just have to keep on doing the best we can to chase those blues away. (Sounds like a good name for a song LOL!)

  7. Well, suddenly it happens as we say here.... or the ketchup effect. Soon your dolls will be at your place. It is frustrating when you track the items and they just hang there in the nearest customs or something.
Love the new beauty you have found. Her outfit is amazing and the shoes are something I could wear myself.
    Hugs!

    1. I guess when they do begin arriving it will be one after the other, then I will have a hard time keeping up with photographs. Now that sounds like I'm never happy, but truth be told, I'll be over the moon! :)
I'm pleased you like her Niina, she's not the most popular doll in the Ellowyne series, but her gorgeous hair and outfit really does her justice.

  8. Usually, Prudence doesn't impress me, but your lady is extremely charming. Her hair color is beautiful.

Hopefully as soon as the dolls reach you, you'll find yourself willing to take photos and sew. The times are weird, what can I say. This year it's easier to get into a bad mood, it's good to have something that takes your mind...

    1. I think she's one of the nicest Prudence's I have seen Joanna and will be a lovely addition to my dolly family, I feel lucky to have found her. :)

Sewing is not so much a problem, I have been doing a little of that and knitting. However, photographing my dolls is and until the last couple of days the weather hasn't been conducive to out door photography. Perhaps now we are seeing a little more sun, things will improve my motivation.

  9. Oh congrats! She looks absolutely stunning. I really love her face too. I'm not normally a "brown eyes" sort of doll person but I really love hers. They just seem to sparkle somewhat and the outfit looks quite lovely, unique and interesting.

    1. Thanks Alasse. I think the brown eyes suit her, but like you I normally steer clear of brown eyes, simply because they are difficult to photograph without looking dead. I love the outfit too, it's quite different to what I usually get drawn to.
