Who Came Home In 2020

I sort of went a little crazy with the dolls in 2020, especially Tonner . . . I managed to bring home quite a haul ~

Tonner:
Patricia and Lacey (both Patsy's)
Kitty and Gale (both Tiny Kitty Collier's)
Sindy (Bridal Bliss)
Agatha Primrose (Want To Dance)
Tyler Wentworth (Party of the Season)
Betsy McCall 14" (Welcome Back C1996)

Ellowyne Wilde
Lizette Dionne (Ellowyne Wilde)
Penn (Ellowyne Wilde)
Prudence Moody (Ellowyne Wilde)
Amber Stanhope (Ellowyne Wilde)

Evangeline Ghastly
Angelique (Evangeline Ghastly)
Parnilla Ghastly (Evangeline Ghastly)
Mortimer Mort (Evangeline Ghastly)

Madame Alexander:
Cissy (21" Cissy)
Milly (10" Cissette)
Elisabeth Rose (13" Renoir Pink)
Alice Delphine (13" Renoir Blue)

Integrity Toys:
Poppy Parker and Ginger Gilroy

Mixed Play Dolls;
Evie and Mal (Disney Decendants)
Suzanne (Minouche)
Willa and Kendall (Wellie Wishers)
Naomi, Caroline, Lucy, Barbara (Paola Reina Las Amigas)
DeeDee Garnet (1997 Dolly Dingle Garnet by Karen Kennedy for Goebel)
April (12" Pretty as Can Be Key to my Heart by The Doll Maker)
Lauryce (Hearts 4 Hearts)

Finally, there was an assortment of cute Asian dolls:
Petunia (Faux Holala)
Violetta (Ixdoll Mui-Chan Hachichi)
Snowdrop (Monst)
and two blank Faux Holala dolls for me to customise.

Total = 40 new arrivals.

I had hoped to add Rufus Rutter to my Ellowyne Wilde family of dolls before the end of the year, but I kept getting pipped at the post with my bidding on eBay. I consoled myself by purchasing Kitty and Patience instead . . . giving myself a nice start to 2021!

Still, I really need to move some of the dolls that need love and attention on to new homes, so I may concentrate on listing those before I even think of looking at adding any more. I have updated my wish list though. :)

I will also have my new kitchen cupboards and appliances (Christmas pressies from hubby) to assemble and paint, so I can create my kitchen diorama. I had so much fun building dioramas this past year and it made staying at home so much more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been.

What about you? Do you have your eye on a particular doll or any other special dolly plans in the works for 2021?

Mail Delivery!

I was lucky enough to receive two parcels today . . . my Lady Alice and four new backdrops! So I quickly dressed Alice in a random wig and clothes and snapped her saying "Hi!" to her pet crow. :)
The lighting needs adjusting I know, but I really wanted to share her before I took off for the weekend. I'll be back on line Tuesday, hopefully with some better photos.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Tuesday

Forest Meeting

My Bubble Mint Jack Centaur arrived yesterday and I am so happy with him. He was to have wings, but the ones I had on hand looked far too big. I am hoping that the new Fairyland RealFee wings might suit him better.

I'm not too sure about the skirt on a boy, but Hera thinks Pegasus is just gorgeous . . . they do make rather a handsome couple though. :)

It wasn't until I began taking photos that I realised how loose Hera's stringing had become, so it looks as though there's another thing to add to my "RoundTuit".

Two New Arrivals

Yesterday evening, I was lucky enough to receive two new dolls, the first was my long awaited iMda Babette which I ordered without a face up (which I will show you later) and the second was a tan LittleFee Pipi girl with a default face up. I didn't quite know what to expect as I hadn't seen a Pipi as a girl let alone in tan resin, so I was quite impressed when I removed this little sweetheart from her box.

I am so pleased with her face up, it looks so natural. I have never been a real fan of pink lips and these suit her beautifully. The wig is just one from my stash and the dress one I purchased a long time ago, neither of these will stay with her as I have something in special for this little one.

I think I shall name her Pippin.

Two in Two Days

Well after all my sadness at not receiving my DZ order because it had been overlooked and then cancelling it because I wasn't prepared to wait another 6 or 7 months for a body for Youra, I have miraculously had two dolls arrive in two days

Yesterday my Luts KD Darin turned up out of the blue (you can see her here) and from all indications she looks like becoming my little tomboy, but only time will tell and she is yet to be named.

Today, I actually received two parcels, one was a book that I have wanted since I missed out on it's first release, and I have Heather to thank for that, as it was her recent blog post on "Enchanted Dolls" that spurred me into looking on the internet once more, on the off chance I'd find one, and find one I did! Thanks Heather! :)

The second parcel contained a DollFamily-H Tao Yue, which I'd managed to buy on the secondary market for a reasonable price. I was thinking of using her body, instead of the DZ that I cancelled, for my Youra head, but until I have time to play, that remains to be seen. I must say, I do love the jointed fingers on the hands and pretty clothes that came with her.

EDIT: Youra's head looked too small on this doll's shoulders, so gave this little girl a different colour wig to try, now I'm thinking I may keep her as the sculpt is quite lovely, but add eyelashes and perhaps give her a face up.

What do you think? Does the hair colour suit her better? Should I give her a face up?

Wednesday

New Arrival

After a longer than expected wait for her arrival, my Fairyland Bisou finally came yesterday. No fault of her previous owner, I might add. The doll was in Oz on the 12th, but for some unknown reason it took 6 days to get from one side of Melbourne to the other. Her previous owner was kind enough to send her with eyes, hair and dress, but I had something special planned for this little one.

The wig is one of the new ones I ordered from Leekeworld (LR092) in Lavender Rose, the shoes I bought from eBay, the dress & undies I made, and the cardi was from Etsy quite some time ago.

Not sure whether to keep the eyes she has (they're a sort of green/grey) or try for another colour, perhaps something a little lighter, so I'd love to hear your opinions.

Tuesday

First On . . . Last Off

I'm sure you are all familiar with the saying "first on, last off" . . . well it proved to be true yesterday, as my girls were on the truck at 7 am and didn't get delivered until 5.45 pm. After unpacking them I was really happy to see their beautiful default face ups, but disappointed with the fit of the face plates. Luckily I had silicone caps on hand!! Now let me introduce the new girls:

Macaron (Dony)
Biscotti (Cony)
Cookie (Bonnie)
The Biscuit Barrel Elves

Now I will have to move my butt and get busy making their home, so they have somewhere to live. :)

Thursday

New Beginning for an Old Body

So far, I only have a body, it arrived on today 13th March. However, it's probably better to have received the two separate parts in this order, as I can begin making her costume while waiting for the head to arrive.

Volks SD13 Girl Body (Pureskin Normal)

Wednesday

The BID's Arrived Yesterday

I ordered these little girls sometime back and they arrived yesterday. I have named them Ebony & Ivory and will be perfect accompaniments for my sweet Harmony.

Efreet and Elin sculpts with IH face-ups.

Their outfits & wigs are from Iplehouse, but the shoes are from Mimiwoo and I made their knee sox myself. Mind you, I did have a minor hiccup . . . in my rush to order them, I accidentally ordered BOY BODIES!!

Now I am going to need to order some boys with girl bodies, so I can swap them over . . . then finally my little girls will have some boys to play with. :)

Thursday

New Arrivals

Today I have been very lucky to have received my two IpleHouse girls. I'm thrilled they arrived in time to put under the Christmas tree, but I couldn't wait till then to get a sneak peek at them in their stock clothing, after all I have been waiting almost three months for them to be made and that is long enough in my book!

This is my first BID (her stock name is Chloe) but I have already plans for her and she will known as Harmony.

My second KID (Lonnie) looks lovely as she is, but only time will tell who she will become.

Wednesday

New Arrivals!

It seems like forever that I have been waiting for this parcel to arrive from Denver Doll, but my patience (or should I say impatience) was finally rewarded today and Ante couldn't wait to see what was inside.

ANTE: Heavens to Betsy, there's an awful lot of paper in here!
ME: Well sweetie, it's good that they have protected the boxes inside from damage.

ANTE: What's this face doing here without the rest of the head and no body?
ME: That's a freebee Ante, Fairyland had an event running when I ordered your sisters.

ANTE: Oh look Ma, isn't she a darling. She has lovely tan skin, I wonder if she's been spending a lot of time in the sun?
ME: Yes, I think she will be a wonderful addition to the family. No silly, that's the colour skin she was born with.

ANTE: Oh I see I have another big sister too! She's very pretty and what beautiful big blue eyes she has.
ME: All the better to see you with my dear. Come on Ante, let's get these girls dressed we can't sit around here all day, we don't want the girls to get a chill.

Thursday

Pixxie Twinky

My Iplehouse Pixxie Twinky arrived today, which was a little bit of a surprise as I only received the shipping notice on Monday. EMS sure have been on the ball lately. I quickly dressed her so as she was not running around in the raw, and I am not sure whether this wig will stay or not . . . only time will tell. :)

Monday

Coco Has Arrived

Lovely, but they put one of her eyes in the wrong position. Compare the two . . . how silly is that??
All seams were smooth excepting one on the inside of her leg. I was really pleased with the colour of her wig as it turned out to be pale aqua and not lime green.

Love the shoes I ordered and I received a free head too, which was a nice surprise.

Thursday

She's Finally Arrived

I honestly don't know how my patience has lasted, it's seems like I have been waiting forever and a day for my sweet Little Fee Ante to arrive from Fairyland. I had her down for arrival at the end of May, but she only arrived today. The wait has been worth it though, she is so beautiful, I just love her to bits and will be making something very special for her to wear over the next few weeks.

I also ordered her a mohair wig as well as a face-up.

She has gorgeous eyes and easily makes friends, as you can see here with teddy.

Tuesday

PukiFee Zio

He arrived today and was to remain a boy, until I tried a dress on him. :) Then he looked like a girl so I had to order her some hair ... couldn't make up my mind which wig would suit best, so ordered three different styles. GULP!

This is the little mohair wig I settled on and she has been renamed Hershey.

Wednesday

Love My Lolly

I can hardly believe it . . . I received my notification from Luts on Monday and even though my package was opened up for inspection, Lolly arrived today!!

She's just as pretty as I'd hoped she'd be.

There's nothing about her I'd change and I like that she has blue eyes, as I had already decided she was to be a blonde. Now she needs a decent wardrobe of clothes. :)

Monday

Good Night Irene

I should say g'day Irene . . . yes, my sweet Irene arrived today and I couldn't wait to show her off! She arrived naked apart from her face-up, so I was away to my cupboard to find her wig and clothes that I had ordered for her some time back.

I was so pleased she arrived several weeks early as I was becoming quite impatient.

Not the best photo but more will follow I assure you. Her full unveiling is here.

Wednesday

Julian AKA Legolas

Well finally my elf boy Julian arrived from Doll Family. I have to put his eyes in and give him a face up which I am quite daunted by and excited about at the same time. I have done many face ups on Blythe dolls, however, this will be my first venture into BJD's and I'm unsure how the pastels will take on the resin. Still I find it does me good to experiment and it will be a good experience I'm sure.

It took me ages to get him all unwrapped, there was so many layers of bubble wrap, not just on the box but on all his joints and around his head and ears...which is probably just as well as his elf ears really stick out quite a bit!!

I already have his wig which I will have to braid and style, and two pairs of boots. He will, with any luck, undergo metamorphosis to become my own interpretation of Legolas from Lord of the rings when he is finished. I have two costumes planned for him, one in silver satin brocade, the other in green and brown ultrasuede.

If you would like to see his complete unveiling click here.

And Then There Were Three

My little Puki Fee Ante arrived yesterday and she's just so sweet. I really love the expression on her face and I am so pleased she was available for immediate despatch. I don't think I could have waited months for another BJD to arrive.

Wasn't quite so happy with the wig though. I'm not sure whether I will keep this as it is, or pull the braids apart and restyle the hair, or just find another wig that suits her. Only time will tell, but whatever happens with her hair, she will remain with me...she has stolen my heart!

Monday

Iplehouse Fashion

I received notification last Thursday that my garment order from Iplehouse was on the way and it arrived today. So my sweet Irene will have clothes ready for her when she arrives in June. The pretty skirt, blouse and cardi outfit looked so delightful on Irene in the photos, that it was a must have and I will team it with the brown boots.

I also bought the little sleeveless shirt and honey coloured jumper knowing full well they are meant to be boy clothes, but teamed up with the right skirt they will look just as lovely on Irene.

Two other parcels arrived at the same time, the first included a little pair of white shoes and the other my steampunk Pullip - Aurora.

Not as happy as I should be with the costume, it's very PLASTIC, so I guess in time she will probably get a new steampunk outfit.

EDIT: She has since been sold.
