What a Waste

Of a week! I had full intentions of taking some fabulous photos of my latest arrivals, but unfortunately when they arrived I was feeling so ill I simply couldn't be bothered. I didn't even unwrap them until yesterday, yes, fancy me allowing three days to pass before doing so! Although I am feeling so much better, I still haven't gotten round to taking photos, but I am going to chat to you about them anyway.

Anais is just as I expected, and with such a beautiful head of hair, it's so voluptuous one could quite easily become lost amongst all those soft rolls of curls. Elois' hair is a little coarse, but in a nicely cut boy style. Both faces are typically Minouche, tender and innocent. They both have blue eyes with the distinctive qualities that only Sylvia Natterer dolls have.

Shoes are nice quality, but the rest of the clothes are somewhat ho-hum, though I did like Anais' undergarment bodysuit. I was thinking I would make new clothes for them both, but Elois' cargo pants not having Velcro, were quite acceptable, so I am keeping them and am going to knit him a nice jumper and hat.

Then while browsing Janette's Doll Studio last night I found this darling little outfit ~

And then again this morning ~ (both modelled by Paola Reina dolls, but they should also fit Minouche dolls quite well).

Now why would I bother to make something right now, when Janette has the perfect solution for both Anais and Suzanne (my older Minouche) with a push or two on my keyboard?? Needless to say, they both ended up in my cart.

So the week I initially thought was a waste, finishes on a more positive note. How was yours?

  1. I hope you are well again. And the dresses are lovely. The pink one is my favorite, and the Reinas wear the dresses as if they were made for them. My week ended in the news that we are facing yet another lockdown.

    1. I'm fighting fit now Mia.😁 I'm hoping they fit as well on my Minouche, I cannot decide which I love most, but I'm sure the girls will have their own favourite, just hope they don't want to wear the same one. I really feel for you, I wouldn't want to be anywhere in Europe right now. The only positive is that it keeps you safe and that's the most important thing.

    1. Hi Dorian,
Oh I am thank you. It's very rare for me to purchase garments for my dolls but I hadn't seen these fabrics before and Janette does such a great job, I didn't think twice.
      You too my friend.

  3. It's great that your week turned out to be quite good :)! Mine was... well, nervous and annoying. We have awful weather here - it's cold, wet and depressing, not the Spring you would dream of. I don't feel like playing with dolls at all :(. Just waiting for the Sun to return.

    1. Oh that's no good Chiriann, at least it will pass and the sun will shine again soon. Then you'll be playing with your dolls again. Keep your chin up!

  4. Thank you Linda, not serious but debilitating. I loved both outfits at first sight, so how could I resist, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed they fit, if not they will go to my own PR dolls. Oh that's not good, I do hope your doctor is going to do something about it and not leave you on painkillers. You take care too!

  6. Feeling sick is always a bummer, but it tends to happen on the most inconvenient moments. Giving yourself some time to rest isn't a waste of time, but I'm nobody to tell you that, since I tend to feel "guilty" sometimes when I'm not feeling great. Luckily, you're better now.
Glad to hear that you are so happy with your latest dolls. I do like the dresses that you shared, the duck print is so cute! I would say go for them if it fits in your budget. If not, just make something for them.

Wish you a lovely new week.

  8. Both dresses are darling, but the duck pattern is just adorable! They'll look so good on Natterer dolls, so I hope they'll fit.

  9. Sorry you have been feeling unwell, but glad you are better now. Those dresses are really cute, a very similar style to dresses I have made for my Sashas, including the toddlers. I discovered a few years back that the pattern fits the toddler Sasha dolls, Les Cheries Corolle, Paola Reinas and the Minouche/Natterer dolls and did a blog post at the time. I love when a dress will fit different dolls!

    1. Thank you Serenata. The dresses are the same style I made for my daughter when she was a toddler and it's perfect for my Minouche. I could see it on the other dolls you mentioned easily, though I haven't tried it yet. I shall have to browse your site to read the post. 😊
