Once upon a time there were three little elves who lived deep in the Elvin Forest. They liked to think they were adventurous little elves, always up for a challenge. On this occasion, while Hershey and Lint were folding up their washing, Cadbury told them about a scroll she had found up in their chocolate box attic. (Yes, chocolate box homes in the forest actually do have attics!)
Cadbury: Look, see here, it says their is a haunted house nearby.
Hershey: I wonder if that is the big Manor House up on the hill?
Lindt: Oh don't be so silly, if it was the Manor House, we would have heard about it being haunted before now.
Cadbury: Well let's go to the Manor House and see for ourselves if it's haunted?
Hershey: Oh I'm not sure I want to. I love an adventure, but I don't know whether I would enjoy haunted things.
Lindt: Don't be such a scaredy cat. It will be fun to go on a grand adventure.
Cadbury: Well here we are, but this old house doesn't look very scarey at all. In fact I think it's quite a pretty house.
Lindt: Of course not, houses don't look scarey, they just are. I wonder how we can get inside, that door is very tall and heavy. Besides, we're so short I don't think we could even reach the handle to open it.
Hershey: Mmm I guess you're right. Let's look around the back, there maybe a way to get in there.
Lindt: Come here quick, I found an entrance! We just need to clamber through this ivy and we can get in through the vent.
Sometime later, after making their way through the ivy and squeezing through the tiny vent, they came upon an opening to a tunnel. It was very, very dark and there was quite a narrow pathway. They hesitated, just for a moment, all three were thinking to themselves, "should we really venture down this long, dark tunnel?"
They eventually did, but the tunnel was much longer than they had anticipated and the narrow pathway had turned into a tiny ledge. The ledge was so narrow now, they had to turn sideways and hold onto the wall to progress further.
This itself was scarey, but the fearless trio continued on. Until . . . Lindt suddenly screamed!!
Hershey: What did you do that for, you made me just about jump out of my skin!
Lindt: There's something cold and boney here, it feels yucky. Ooo ah, it's slimey and not very nice at all.
Cadbury: What are you on about, let me see. Oh you are so silly Lindt, it's only an old skeleton.
Hershy and Lindt: An old skeleton? That's it, we're outta here!!
Cadbury: So much for being brave and having a grand adventure!
They never did find out if the Manor House on the hill was haunted, discovering the skeleton was adventourous enough for these three little elves.
Hope you are all having a grand weekend adventure of your own!
lol I love your three little chocolate named elves. So 'sweet' in more ways than one. Very brave even to think of going into a possibly haunted house.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they went home and ate something chocolatey to get over their adventure.
Love their outfits, did you make them?
hugs x
Thank you Dee, yes I see you gathered by their names they ADORE CHOCOLATE!!
DeleteNo, I only know the basic crochet stitches and can do granny squares, but I could never make anything as lovely as their costumes. I purchased these from Etsy, but the shop is not there anymore.
Big hugs,

What a great story, loved it. I also love the girls outfits, too cute. Glad they decided to turn back after coming across the skeleton :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Dorian
I am so pleased you enjoyed the story Dorian, my little critters always manage to inspire me to write something fun.

This is so cute. I love the photo of them reading the map, and the story itself is very cute. :)
ReplyDelete-Quinley
Thank you Quinley. The little scroll shown in the photo came with a vintage Bat-Sheba Perfume by Judith Muller which belonged to my mother.

At least your dolls had a little bit of an adventure! Just wondering, do you knit English or Continental style? I'm a terribly slow knitter, but I'm afraid learning the faster method is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are always off on adventures, but sometimes they get more than they bargained for. 🤣
DeleteI really don't know Barb, I just knit the way my mother did. I have seen others hold their needles differently, but didn't actually know there was English or Continental styles...I learn something new every day!! Don't worry about being slow, the more you knit, the faster you become...I was slow in the beginning too!

LOL!! Poor Cadbury, she'll have to round up companions who shrug off skeleton incidents like her and return to go on with her adventure.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, and love the girls' tasty names!
I very much doubt she will Uschi, she only feels safe when she is with Hershey and Lindt . . . she believes in the power of three. 🤣
DeleteThank you.

Little elfs are just as cute as their names ;)! And they were very brave, they made it as far as to the skeleton - that's something!
ReplyDeleteLove your stories about those little darlings :)!
Hi Chiriann!
DeleteI guess they were a bit brave, it would be a challenge for anyone to venture into an unknown dark tunnel and to walk in a tiny ledge.
Thank you, I'm pleased. 😘
Big hugs,

I love the fact that all have names of chocolate brands. It was quite an adventure they went for. To be fair, I would have turned back as soon as the path turned too narrow. Your photos look lovely, specially the one outdoors.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely weekend too.
Well they do live in a chocolate box, so it wasn't too difficult to name them. 😁 These three are always having adventures, but not all are as scarey. Me too! Thanks MC it was a lucky shot.

Cool, brave and sensible elves. My favorite is blue haired. Hugs
ReplyDeleteYes this time, but they are not always sensible. Lindt says "thank you Magdalena". 😘

Haha.. sorry I couldn't comment earlier, I had to eat 10 boxes of chocolate first :D. It must have been haunted, I felt like screaming afterwards.
ReplyDelete🤣 Be careful, you'll get fat eating all that chocolate!
DeleteBig hugs,

In my case, that would take a couple more boxes. Me- beanpole. I would love to get fat in certain places ;D.
DeleteLucky you! And here I was being nice. If it were me I'd only get FATTER!! I'd love to get rid of my tummy, but even diet & exercise doesn't shift it at my age. 😊
DeleteIt’s only an old skeleton!😂 Love this story, such an adventure!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
So pleased it amused you Niina, we all need something to make us smile right now.
