New and Updated Furniture

I've been on a painting roll lately and after I finished with my kitchen, I found a bookcase which needed a coat of paint. I used another couple of the Porter's sample pots, Gulf Stream and Volcanic Ash to paint it.

Hatsuko liked the Gulf Stream colour so much she thought it would be a suitable colour to update the daybed.

They turned out better than I expected and suit the "Paris Apartment" diorama rather well.

Ugh! Now she's wondering what else she can get me to paint. With any luck she won't see the other pieces I have hidden away.

At last she's settled down with a good book! I think Alice in Wonderland should keep her occupied for a while, I hope so.

Well that didn't last long!  Perhaps she'll enjoy a little dolly time of her own now and let me get on with other things. :)

  1. Thanks, the colour adds more warmth to the room, much better than the white, it seemed a little cold. I received the double bench and a broom cupboard yesterday, along with the tiles I was waiting for, so I shall finish off the kitchen before beginning another set of furniture. I have a lovely shade of green called Timberline which I want to use on something.
We often seem to be on the same wavelength Linda, or our dolls do. LOL!

  2. Such a cozy little room! I hope my dolls don't see this lovely furniture. I need to focus on sewing right now.

    1. Thanks Barb, I'm pleased you think so. :) I've really been enjoying making all these pieces up and painting them. I'd like to get back into sewing too, but it will have to wait until I'm finished the diorama furniture.

  3. Oh this diorama looks fantastic. I have that daybed too although I have never got around to finishing it. It just needs the seat cushions. Should try and do that soon. Is the book shelf from the same place? I haven't visited her site in a while. Great photos!

    1. Thanks Alasse. I remember, yes get busy girl after all it's just simple squares you have to sew. LOL! Yes, it's all from Fairy Meadow Miniatures and they have some new additions for the rooms now too. I'd love to add the next level, but I haven't room for the stair and balcony on my table. :(

    1. Thanks Dee, I love the Porter's sample pots as they are real house paints and there are a few strong colours which you don't find in the craft paints. Oh don't worry I know she will, she's a pushy little thing. LOL!

    1. Hello to you too Niina. The little dolly is made from Fimo or something similar, I found her in a thrift store and she came with a little chair.
