Project: Knitting Continued

After checking the pattern I wrote and posted a few days ago, and prior to my computer chucking the claw in, I realised had made a mistake when typing it ~ where it read Row 14-28, it should read Row 17-28, so you can either change your copy or download the new one which I have edited.

Thankfully, I noticed it when I began knitting it again, this time as a jumper (sweater) which buttons at the back. If you would like to do this, make additional button holes at the end of R15, 27 and 39.

We also have new models to show how they fit my  Corolle Les Cheries and Wellie Wishers dolls.

I'm sorry about the quality of the photos, but my photo editing program went west along with a few other bits and pieces which I had forgotten to save to my hard drive. Unfortunately neither I, nor my tech guys were able to retrieve them.

Willa is wearing the second pink cardi where I added the three extra button holes so she could wear it as a jumper (sweater). As you can see, I also made her a matching skirt using a combination of the Naturally Loyal Baby Print at the bottom and a matching plain pink 4ply from the hip up to the waist.

I use slightly larger needles when I made the skirt, but I think next time I will increase the stitches slightly and revert back to the 2.25mm needles, as the finished garments look much nicer and the stitches more even. Once I have done that, I'll share the pattern.

Well that's it for today my lovelies, I hope you are all having a lovely weekend, I'll be back again later in the week.

  1. Wait! So do I have this straight? The pattern in the knitted stuff is just from variegated wool? If that's right, that's really cool and kind of makes me wish I could knit

    1. Yes sweetie pie, the wool makes the pattern for you! Honestly it's so simple to do, even you could give it a go.

  2. LOL, disregard my last comment, as I see you used baby yarn! Can't wait to try this on Camille and Mosi.

    1. Hi RM, Remember it's a 4ply baby yarn and not the 3ply as it will make a difference to the size. I shall look forward to seeing your knitting results on your two dolls. :)

    1. Cześć Urszula,
Dziękuję za bardzo miłe słowa Urszula, być może będę w stanie robić na drutach ładne ubrania, jednak nie mam twoich niesamowitych talentów za pomocą pędzla. :)

  6. 2.25 needles...oh my. Beautiful results! Keep them moth-safe! The little buggers just ate one of my sweaters...

    1. Hi Mia,
Yes, I know they are very thin, and my needles always end up bent. LOL!
I will try, so far I haven't had that problem.

  7. Thank you LInda. It's a good basic pattern that can be changed easily and lengthened if necessary. It does, but I'm not sure I will keep it on her, it all depends on the dolls that are arriving today.

  8. I like the colours and patterns through the knits. They go together well. And such tiny tiny stitches. I don't know how you do it. I have tried to knit once and my stitches were so clunky.

    1. Thank you Alasse, I love this yarn and the pattern it produces. So, so much easier than knitting fairisle with different coloured yarns at the same time.

  10. My mom loved to knit sweaters for me when I was little. I tried to learn a few times, but I just don't have the patience or the talent. Your knitting always impress me, I love the sweater you made for my lovelies some years ago.
Hope everything is going well for you~

    1. Thank you Sharon. Yes the wool does all the work for me. :) Perseverance is the key, and before you know it you'll master those knitting needles. I find the more I knit the better my dolly garments look.
