Sharing a Secret

Hello! Let me introduce myself . . . I am Alf, short for Alfreda, and I am a polar bear.

But not just any polar bear . . . a pink and white polar bear. I have huge trupunto feet and a wobble head. But that is so I can stand by myself and say "Yea" or "Nay" without speaking.

I am made from mohair, have ultra suede pads and German glass boot button eyes. My body is firmly stuffed with polyfill and glass beads. Several beautiful shades of pink embroidery forms my nose and I wear a hand made felt pixie hat. I stand nine inches (23cm) tall and keep secrets really well.

This is my little friend, her name is Liandra. She just arrived recently and hasn't been exposed to the world, she's kinda shy and wants me to tell you something.

I am for sale, yes me, Alfreda the magical polar bear! Just a mere US$50 plus postage would have me on the next flight to your house.

P.S. My mummy made me and I carry her label on my butt!

    1. Yes Alejandra, she's all my own design. I have always enjoyed designing patterns for teddies, and other animals, they make great companions for dolls. :)

Liandra was to be a fairy with a different face plate and real pixie ears. I actually bought this PF to use the body, but when I saw this Zoe up close I decided to keep her.

    1. Hello Giac,
Thank you, you are so sweet. I do hope she finds a loving home, but unfortunately teddies are not the flavour of the month.

  4. Woah, Xanadu, I knew your sewing skills were amazing but wow. That Polar Bear turned out really great. All the attention to detail and I am loving the colours and design. Alfreda looks so soft and cuddly.

I love the hair on your girl and adore her name.

    1. Hi Alasse,
Actually she's not very soft at all, as she is very firmly stuffed, but she wasn't designed to be cuddled, just as a prop really. :)

Liandra, is Li for short and was supposed to be a fairy, but I'm not at all sure she'll make it, we will have to just wait and see.

  6. What a gorgeous bear, you're very clever! She reminds me of that coconut ice that we used to be able to buy by the ounce in the sweet shop as kids!
